Gwendolyn Baker
Receptionist Gwen Baker joined us in October 2008, bringing nine years experience at the front desk with her.
She says she enjoys working at Uptown Vets because, at a small practice, she becomes more in touch with the individual clients. She enjoys cooking, movies, reading and spending time with her family. Any pets? "Not yet, but soon!" she says.
Julie Studer
Julie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University, and has worked five years in the veterinary field as a receptionist, kennel technician, and veterinary assistant. She shares her home with her pitbull mix Rahja and two cats, Asher and Kyan. A former professional basketball player in the European leagues, Julie now enjoys reading, church activities, traveling, and cooking.
Marlon Ulloa
Originally from Ecuador, Marlon is 26 years old and has worked in the veterinary field for 2 years now. Recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology from City College of NY, he plans to go back to school to get his masters. Marlon is dedicated to his education. He has worked as a field research assistant on American Museum of Natural History projects in La Perouse Bay, Manitoba, surveying Snow Goose migration and Polar Bear scat; and in the Hamptons as a Piping Plover hatchling monitor.
At home, he loves to hang around with his 10 year old parrot named Lucia. He spends his free time listening to music and dancing.
Jason Tarricone
Has been working in the veterinary field for four years, at clinics in Long Island, Massachusetts, and now at Uptown Vets. He's completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Tufts University in Biological Psychology, and is currently taking pre-vet classes at C.W. Post University and SUNY Farmingdale in preparation for his application to vet school. "I like the advanced state-of-the-art care that we offer to our clients and their pets, and I'm grateful for the mentoring Dr. Obernesser has provided me."
Jason has four cats, a Maltese, and a Coton de Tulear at home; enjoys ice hockey, roller hockey, and has recently taken up flying lessons.
Jonathan Munoz
Jonathan is currently enrolled at Manhattan College in the pre-veterinary program as a biology major. He came to Uptown Vets as a summer intern and quickly became a valued part of the team. He continues working part time as he pursues his education. Jonathan has two dogs, two cats, and a turtle at home, and enjoys baseball, reading, music and camping.
