What to Expect
We’re excited to see you at our full service veterinary hospital, and will greet you at the entrance. We’ll ask you to check in with our front desk. For medium and large dogs, we can also get a weight on the large scale next to the reception desk. If you have a cat, or a dog who prefers not to be around other animals, we will usher you into an exam room right away.
We are by appointment only and work hard to make sure your appointment starts on time. Please let us know if you are running late, so we can make sure there is ample time to complete your visit.
At the beginning of your appointment, a veterinary nurse will ask you a series of background questions. Depending on what your pet is due for, the technician may collect a blood sample. Dr. Obernesser will then join you and your pet in the exam room. The nurse will gently hold your pet to ensure they are safe and comfortable throughout the exam. Feel free to bring some favorite treats for us to reward him/her as our veterinarian completes a comprehensive physical exam, checking all body systems.
After the exam, Dr. Obernesser will discuss all the normal and abnormal findings, as well as your specific concerns. Once we have a total picture of your pet’s needs, we’ll work together with you to plan what treatments are best.
Our appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes to ensure there is ample time to address all of your concerns. In some cases appointments may take longer, especially if your pet is not feeling well and needs additional care. Let us know if you have any schedule concerns and we will work to accommodate them. Please bear in mind that we do require your authorization before doing anything with your pet, so if you will not be present for the full appointment, please contact us ahead of time to make arrangements.
